The Case for Scenery

The scenery for Case Industrial has started in earnest now. The walls of two of the structures has been decorated with brick / stone paper, and plans are a foot for adding the tops of the buildings to hide the sector plates from viewing above.

The next step is to add ground cover (mostly sand, with some bits of 'grass' thrown in for good measure.

Here are some pics of progress so far.

Case Industrial Operational

The track is laid, the wiring is completed. It's time to run a test train.

And so I did.

Case Industrial saw it's first 'train' yesterday - a GE44 tonner 'acquired' from the CSFT. It ran almost flawlessly. And it proves there are not shorts in the wiring! All the sector plates worked well, and the loco moved smootly over the other trackwork.

Holidays = Lotsa Trains

Have been on annual leave since mid March, and have had the opportunity to to take lots of photos and video of various trains and model trains. Photos are located in the following locations (in the Photo Gallery section of the site):

A little change makes for big changes to operation on the CSFT

For some time I have been thinking of changing the Calumet South yard approach on the CSFT. I had a basic idea of what I wanted to acheive but didn't have the time to make the change without too many disruptions to operating the CSFT.

Holidays! Tis the season to make the change.

Trackwork nearly finished on Case Industrial

I thought it was about time I posted a bit of info about how Case Industrial construction is progressing. the track work is nearly finished - all I need is one more section of flex track.

All the sector plates are finished and attached to the layout.

CSFT looses weight.

Not that the CSFT was overweight! But in order to fit our new (to us) car into the garage I needed to do some surgery (or is that butchery) to the CSFT.

Case Industrial progresses...

Construction is progressing nicely. The sector plates have been finished, complete with wires to connect to the wire bus.
