The Rotary Talk
A few weeks ago, my manager asked me whether I would be willing to do a talk for the Rotary Club he belongs to. Having not done any public speaking for quite a few months I thought it would be a good idea although I was little nervous - this would be the first time I would be doing public speaking about model railroading.
So I took up the challenge and today I presented the talk as part of Rotary Club's weekly breakfast meeting. The talk went well going by the comments people made, and some at the meeting asked whether they could have a look at my layouts.
During the compiling of the talk I came across some interesting facts - particularly in relation to well known people that have been interested in model trains over the years. In the lists of famous people there were quite a number of singers / musicians of various musical genre. This took me somewhat by surprise, although I had remembered reading in the Model Railroader magazine about Rod Stewart and his model rairoad. A few notable politicians around the world and from various political persuasions have also been interested in model trains.

A PDF of the talk is attached, for anyone that's interested.
