As a member of this site you can interact with the site in various ways not available to non-members. Member only activities include:

• Commenting and Posting on Blogs without requiring approval for each comment / blog entry
• Accessing and Interacting with other members through the Forums
• Voting on Content
• Using the site's Messenger facility to send messages to other users
• Using the "Addthis" / "Share This" button to share content on various social networking sites such as Facebook, Digg, MySpace, Del.icio.us, etc.
• Voting in the Polls
• Changing the Display Theme that will be used when you are logged in to the site

More member only activities will be added in the future.

Once you register to become a member of Jim's Model Train Site the Site Administrator will do some basic checking of the validity of your membership registration (eg, checking for spam email addresses, etc, see 'Please Note' section below) and your membership will be activated and you will be notified through the email address you supplied in the registration process.

Membership is FREE, so if you would like to do any of the activities listed above on Jim's Model Train Site register as a member today.

Please note that as of June 2008, I will be automatically rejecting membership requests where the email address attached to that request has ANY of the following attributes:

• Email address ending in .ru - If you have an email address like this, you can email me with a membership request in legible English, then submit your request for membership and I will approve it.
• Email address ending in .es - If you have an email address like this, you can email me with a membership request in legible English, then submit your request for membership and I will approve it.
• A username that I suspect is a computer generated username rather than a username chosen by an actual human being. A good example of a computer generated username is one where numbers and letters appear be in a random order.
• An email address that bounces when I send a test email to confirm it's validity

These measures are being taken to help protect the Jim's Model Train Site community from spammers.
