What a Releif!

By stanford - Posted on 02 August 2008

The layout has been moved to my new location without incident. I made up a frame to hold the layout in place during the trip, and place 2 tarpaulins over it to keep the weather out, and it worked wonderfully.

During the trip we went over some rough sections of road, and I was sure some of the buildings would have come off as a result.

After we arrived at our new house, I took the tarpaulins off the trailer. And to my surprise (and a huge amount of releif too) I found that no buildings had fallen off. Only one tree and one small attachment to a building had fallen off. Considering that the parts that fell off the layout were fairly fragile anyway, it's safe to say that the layout sustained no damage. I set it up in the garage of our new house, and it was up and running within a few days of us arriving.

Sure beats scrapping a layout and starting again!

I have added a video to YouTube about the de-construction of the layout. It is located at:

Enjoy!
