A few good locos

By stanford - Posted on 23 March 2009

What does a bit of extra cash and a flurry on eBay equal?

Why, a few new locos of course!

Just arrived today - 2 DCC equipped Bachmann locos. An ATSF SD40-2, and a generic industrial looking GE44 tonner. Both run really well, although I did have to add some acceleration and deceleration delay to make them run a bit more realistically.

The ATSF loco will be used to run a local to / from Calumet South yard, to somewhere on the ATSF. I don't know exactly where on the ATSF network it will go to and from yet. Will have to work that out and adjust my train sheet accordingly.

Since the GP7 leased from C&NW has been allocated to the Silvis transfer job, the GE44 will assist the switcher leased from the Frisco/BN with local switching work.
