Illinook and Chatham Industrial Operational!

By stanford - Posted on 05 October 2009

After a flurry of activity over the weekend, the Illinook module and the Chatham Industrial layout are now fully operational. On Illinook, the track was laid, wiring installed, and the module was connected up to Forest Junction on the C&SFT. I testing the configuration and it works a treat! All I needed to do to make the Chatham Industrial layout operational was do the wiring.

A backscene along two sides of the Illinook baseboard was also installed - a plain grey backscene, just like the C&SFT. I plan to add some buildings or other scenic features into the Illinook module, particularly to hide where the track nearest the back of the module meets the backscene. I am not sure exactly what what soort of scenery I will use there, but I imagine it will be a building of some sort. There is also a Walthers Cornerstone kit on the way to represent the Asphalt Plant.

The Chatham Industrial scenery is coming along well too - I have now formed the drainage creek, and painted it a neutral sand color in preparation for adding foliage, and other details to it.
